Medicare Australia is not as smart card chip Medical Association
AMA Medical Association (Australia), Chairman, Dr Bill Glasson, said today that the hastily improvised Chip Medicare launched in Tasmania and Tony Abbott, today is not a very clever idea. Dr Glasson said the government was secretly developing the smart card since November last year, but has not discussed with WADA or any other party. There are serious security and confidentiality of participants in the smart card, Dr Glasson said. Australians value their privacy when they have real concerns that an identification number of Medicare on a smart card could be used to provide links to other personal and private.Its a shame to see a potentially valuable resource for physicians and patients poorly designed and hastily constructed to pre-election fever. I just hope that now
not-so-smart card is not jeopardize the development of a smart card really useful that covers your medical privacy of patients. A very smart Smartcard would be used only for specific health and could not be linked to other personal information. A true smart card chip is the product of consultation and agreement between governments, patients, consumer groups and the medical profession.I suggest that the government immediately a wide consultation and follow the advice of the Roman historian Suetonius, and accelerate slowly.
